The Exorcism Sutra · Annotated Edition

This is a transcript, not the original; the notes are longer than the text. The Bureau gathered fragments from four places and pieced together a text that reads end to end, and beside each line is a note on where it came from.

• Full text: traditional characters with simplified alongside, numbered by section
• Line-by-line notes: who wrote it, where it circulated, which lines were added later, which character was copied wrong
• Appendix: the paper, ink, binding and travel routes of the transcripts, with 6 plates (facsimile renderings, not photographs of originals)

Who it suits

Anyone drawn to folk texts; anyone who writes stories or does research and needs real material.

Note

This is document work, not a ritual manual: the Bureau offers no rites or chanting, promises no effect, and gives no medical, legal or financial advice. Reading it means reading a document.
