Wuhan University Cherry Blossom Avenue · The Ghost Doll in the Cherry Blossom Castle

The Old Dormitory is the most beautiful residence at Wuhan University, known to students as the “Cherry Blossom Castle,” yet it is also haunted by the legend of the “Ghost Child.”

It is said that on nights when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, one can hear the giggling of a child, but no one is ever found.

Students who have lived in those rooms say that a shadow not belonging to anyone appears on the windowsill in the middle of the night; sometimes, an empty bed will show an indentation, as if someone had just been lying there. Some students moved out because of this, while others viewed it as a final “rite of passage” before graduation.
