The Tower of London · The Queen Carrying Her Head

The Tower of London · The Queen Carrying Her Head

After Anne Boleyn was beheaded in the Tower, guards reported seeing her walking across the grass holding her own head multiple times.

For centuries since, sightings of the “headless queen” in the Tower have never ceased. Most frequently seen is the hem of a green dress flitting through the shadows of the ramparts.

Another legend claims that the skeletons of two children are buried beneath the floor of the Tower’s chapel, linked to the disappearance of the “Princes in the Tower.” There has been no conclusion to this day.
