Shennongjia · The Red-Haired Wildman
Share
The Shennongjia “wildman” is the most widely circulated eyewitness account of an unknown creature from the last century. Multiple large-scale expeditions were organized in the area during the 1970s.
Eyewitness descriptions focus on several characteristics: a height of over two meters, an entire body covered in reddish-brown hair, bipedal walking, and a wide arm swing while moving. Suspicious hair samples and plaster casts of footprints were collected at the scene.
The scientific community has yet to confirm its existence, but large areas of uninhabited land remain in the core of Shennongjia, where unauthorized entry is prohibited.
