Läckö Castle · Empty Windows by the Lake

Läckö Castle · Empty Windows by the Lake

Läckö Castle stands on a small island in Lake Vänern and is among Sweden’s oldest noble castles; its white walls and black roof are clear from the water.

The castle runs a “ghost tour” about the dead and the imprisoned who passed through it over the centuries. In the area there is also a saying that someone sings in the lake, recorded in the local records.

The castle now has a restaurant and concerts. At night the lake is very still; only the castle’s own lights are on.
