Kellie’s Castle · The Lift That Was Never Installed
Share
Kellie’s Castle at Taiping was built by a Scotsman, Kellie Smith, for his wife. He died in Portugal while the work was half done, and the house was never completed.
What remains is a lift shaft that was never fitted, several flights of stairs that lead nowhere, and rooms without walls. The bullet marks on the bricks and the tunnels below have been made to sound mysterious.
The stories include children’s laughter, and a voice calling Kellie’s name. The caretakers still will not stay alone on the top floor.
