Kuldhara · A Village Emptied in One Night

Kuldhara once held several hundred households. It is said that a local man of power wanted a woman of the village, and that the whole village left in a single night; no one has lived here since.

The old people of the region say that on that night the villagers together cursed the land: nothing would grow here again, and misfortune would follow anyone who settled.

Only broken walls and dry wells remain. Visitors say it is very quiet by day — quiet as if everyone were still here, simply refusing to speak.
