Loftus Hall · A Guest Who Was Invited In

The story of Loftus Hall is complete in every detail. On a stormy night a stranger knocked and asked for shelter; playing cards with the master’s daughter, he dropped a card, and when she bent to pick it up she saw that he had hooves.

The guest vanished on the spot, and the daughter was shut in that room until she died. The room was left empty afterwards; anyone who spends the night there is said to feel pressed down.

The house has since been a hotel and a “haunted experience”. Guests who stay a night mostly say only one thing the next morning: they slept badly.
