Qasr Al Hosn · Abu Dhabi’s First Brick
Share
Qasr Al Hosn is the earliest building in Abu Dhabi. It began as a watchtower keeping an eye on the pearling boats and the freshwater wells, and was later walled into a palace.
It watched the city grow from a fishing village into a metropolis of a million people. What is shown inside now is old photographs and old tools.
The staircase to the tower is narrow. The attendant says this: once you are at the top, do not hurry to take photographs — this place was built to see others first.
